Phyllis Mishkin

Age 95, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, formerly of Manhattan and Rockville Centre, New York, died peacefully on May 12, 2024.

A graduate of Hofstra University, Phyllis was fluent in several languages and taught Hebrew School for many years. Deep human connection was her North Star, and from that flowed her endless generosity toward others. She was a lifelong learner whose intellect made her a valuable sounding board for Stanley, her beloved husband of 72 years, in his business dealings. That she died on Mother’s Day was a poignant reminder to her three sons of how central she was to shaping the adults they became. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins, and the daughters of her friends who turned to her as a figure of love and wise counsel when their own mothers had gone.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing.

Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

My thoughts are with you, Dan, Karen, Grace, Alice and Rob, as you mourn the loss of your mom/mom-in-law and grandma. I know her memory will be a blessing for all of you.
