On May 21, 1950, in Perry, Michigan, Philip (age 3) and I (day before 4th birthday) watched our father, Harlon Sheldon Foote (age 25) die. Our mother, Norene, moved back to Lansing to work. In high school, Phil’s dream was to live and work in Cheboygan. Our mother was from Burt Lake. My father called Cheboygan County “God’s Country”. For his senior year, he attended and graduated from Cheboygan High School. He returned to Lansing for college. Unfortunately, he did not find a way to live his dream in Cheboygan.

I have fond memories of playing with cousin Phil when he visited our grandparents in Burt Lake, My family’s house was ~800 feet from our grandparents. I now live in Huntington Beach, CA which is near Paul’s place.

Thoughts and prayers for the family.
