Pete Hart
9/26/46 – 2/9/18
Pete was born in Haslett, Michigan, to Robert H. Hart and Charlotte E. (DuBois) Hart. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert; sisters, Shirley, Betty, Clara, Delores, June and Lynette; and grandson, Jimmy. Pete is survived by his daughters, Jenifer (Joe) Hamilton and Jeanette (Steve) Barrows; grandchildren, James Keep, Jordan (Lyndsi) Keep, Joshua Barrows, Jessica Hamilton, Jeremy Barrows and Zachary Hamilton; great-grandchildren, Landon and Hailee Keep; and siblings, Dar Hart, Tom Hart and Dawn (Hart) Chick.
Pete was an Army combat veteran, serving his country in the Vietnam War. In his early adulthood, Pete was competitive in roller derby and known for his roller skating talents. Later in life, Pete’s hobbies included bowling, motorcycling with the Diamondback Motorcycle Club, drinking coffee at local diners and watching movies. He was a school custodian for over 30 years, retiring from Waverly Schools.
Pete’s end of life journey was supported by his family, staff at the Dansville Country Care Home and Heartland Hospice.
A celebration of life will be hosted by his daughters in Spring, 2018. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Pete to Heartland Hospice, 865 S. Cedar Street, Mason, MI 48854.

February 13, 2018 at 6:13 pmPete and I were only two years apart. We skated, played, and even double dated once. We wrote faithfully when he was in Viet Nam, and at his request I also wrote to some of his friends who didn’t get letters. I’m going to miss him.
