Pedro “P-Dog” Flores
06/22/1971 to 10/27/2012
Once diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma 1 year ago, Pedro “P-Dog” Flores never gave up hope. He never complained, maintaining a brave and always hilarious outlook, and optimistic future- even through countless radiation and chemotherapy treatments, surgeries, hospitalizations and pain. He continued to be there for his children cracking jokes and always trying to make them laugh.
Pedro, (who often joked that his name is really Peter Flowers) was born June 22nd 1971 in Pharr, Texas and spent most of his childhood in Fort Wayne and Lansing Michigan, attending JW Sexton High School.
Pedro passed away with his children family and close friends by his bedside in the early morning hours of October 27th 2012. He was preceded in death by his father Juan Flores and his adored mother Herminia Flores. He leaves behind his 3 children: his daughter, Leticia Flores, his son, Emilio Hernandez, and his son and Best Friend, Angelo Flores; two sisters, Martina Flores and Dolores Flores; and brother, Juan T. Flores. He leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends’ family and extended family. Everyone who Pedro touched will feel a serious loss with his passing. He was a true friend to many.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 2520 W. Willow, Lansing, MI, with the Rev. Wesley B. Emerson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Friday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.

November 2, 2012 at 9:44 amOur thoughts and prayers go out to the Flores family. Pedro was a kind, gentle soul. He was a great friend and an amazing father and will truly be missed. Angelo, your dad taught you well and loved you more than anything in the world. You are an amazing and strong young man, just like him. I hope you find some comfort in these trying times, knowing that he is free of pain and in God’s care. God Bless, D and I will miss you Pedro!
