July 12, 2023 at 7:03 amMr. Kinzer was the quintessential teacher at Lapeer East High School. He was well respected by his students and colleagues for his hard work and dedication. He was that knowledge bank that we could count on and he was always willing to share with his peers. His filing cabinets were filled with wonderful notes on every chapter, along with learning targets, worksheets and activities, quizzes, tests and much, much more. I should know; I helped clean out those cabinets, which were still very organized, almost thirty years after he retired. Condolences to the family.

July 12, 2023 at 7:41 amThey say that you remember a teacher not for what they taught but for how they were as a person, and that is certainly true for Mr. Kinzer. I was priveleged to be a student of his during hs first year of teaching in Lapeer. His enthusiasm for World History made it enjoyable for his students but what really stood out was his kindness and caring for us. God bless the Kinzer family in your loss, you are in my prayers as you mourn.

July 13, 2023 at 3:25 pmOur thoughts and prayers are with you all.
As a fellow LCS employee, and seeing him quite soon after some very serious health issues, I’ll always remember him coming into the Administration Building with that infectious smile. It seemed to be written all over his face and in his demeanor, “I’ve got this”.
He was a wonderful man, husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
