Sending thoughts and hugs at this sad time. So glad Paul could come to a few Coral Gables lunches. Loved his political insight and wit. He will be missed.

To Prof. Abramson’s family:

Thank you so much for sharing Paul Abramson with the Michigan State community for so many years. I was one of his students, for two classes, and he was one of the better people I had the privilege of learning from. I took Campaigns and Elections with him, as well as a class on Western European democracies. Now as the head of the U.S. Government breaking news desk for Bloomberg, I use Prof. Abramson’s teachings literally on a daily basis.

You may also remember me as the reporter, then for the Lansing State Journal, who profiled Lee about his music career now more than 10 years ago. I was saddened to hear of his passing, though grateful to have gotten to know him as well.

While there were many who knew Prof. Abramson better than I, I did not want to let this moment pass without letting you know just how impactful he was in the brief time we had together.

All my best, – Derek –
