Patsy Mae Young-Payne

Age 79, of Lansing, MI, passed away on March 28, 2013. She was born on December 22, 1933 in Montgomery, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Payne, Sr., son Nathaniel Payne, Jr., and parents Patrick and Thelma Young.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Morning Pilgrim Baptist Church in Montgomery where she served as Minister of Music for 27 years prior to relocating to Lansing.

She is survived by her children: Kenneth (Claudien) Payne, Lansing, MI, Michael (Helen) Payne, Rochester, NY, Timothy Payne, Lansing, MI, and adopted daughter Brenda Norman, Houston, TX; sister, Corine Graham; brothers, Herbert Young, Clifford Young, and Frank Young of Montgomery; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be no services. Arrangements provided by Estes-Leadley Funeral Homes, Greater Lansing Chapel.
