Patrick L. Dolan
Patrick L. Dolan was born in 1945 to Bernard and Velma Dolan. Patrick’s strength, honesty, and humor remained a constant to everyone until his peaceful passing on February 5, 2023. He lived his life with gusto which extended to those he loved, his passion for education and Corvettes, as well as his two careers, first as a Lieutenant in the Michigan State Police and later as a small business owner and jeweler. Most of all, his proudest accomplishment was his devotion to his role as a loving and proud father.
For 24 years Patrick was a dedicated Laingsburg School Board member—it was his vision that all Laingsburg students be provided with the opportunity to excel during their time within the school system and beyond. As an active member of the National Council of Corvettes, he held many offices from President to the position closest to his heart–Director of Charity. Under his leadership millions of dollars were donated to the Spina Bifida and National Kidney foundations. Patrick was also a driving force behind the creation of the National Corvette Museum – in 2012 he was inducted into the Museum’s Hall of Fame.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His presence will be felt forever in the legacy he leaves behind.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy, and his beloved daughters, Jennifer and Sarah Dolan. He was deeply loved by in-laws Terri (Paul) Lentz, Karen Sharky, Marty (Anne) Killila, and Kay Dolan, and his cherished nieces and nephew, Heidi and Heather Lentz, Tim and Anna Sharky, Kathleen Stamatis, Molly Strong, and Betsy Speagle.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 549 E. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, MI. His family will receive relatives and friends from 3-6 p.m. on Friday at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Laingsburg Educational Advancement Foundation (LEAF), 205 S. Woodhull Street, Laingsburg, MI 48848.

February 7, 2023 at 6:32 pmPat was an outstanding person. One of my fondest memories of Pat was when I was at the National Governors Meeting and he was up there giving away door prizes. He must have had a ton of NCCC cook books, because everytime he gave a door prize he would say “and another cook book”. I still have mine. Another of my fondest memories was at a speed event at one of the Indy conventions. It was my first convention. I had car trouble and Pat helped me to fix the problem, so that I could enjoy the event. My condolences to Cindy and the Family. God Speed Pat, just as you drove your Vette.

February 7, 2023 at 8:33 pmEnjoyed many days of golfing with Pat, as part of our neighborhood often more than weekly, group trips to Hawk Hollow properties golf courses. Pat and I purchased identical snow blowers with lights so we could plow our street and drives at anytime of the day or night. We actually had fun doing that kind of thing. Of course, there were the Fourth of July fireworks and the celebration with family, friends and food. Pat was a community minded neighbor and used his back yard as a launching pad for the fireworks enjoyed by many in the area. Pat also bore much of the expense for this endeavor for a number of years building a tradition that lives on. He welcomed assistance from family and friends helping to build meaningful relationships and memories.
I am so grateful for Pat’s support of the Laingsburg schools over the years where I was blessed to teach first grade for 14 years. His dedication as a long standing school board member is greatly appreciated!!!!!! Not only did I know Pat in that role, but so enjoyed him as my neighbor across the street for the last 23 years. His wit, humor, love of his family and his many Corvettes in his driveway will long be remembered.

February 10, 2023 at 12:58 pmPatrick gave me a awesome ride around Grattan very memorable. I also was fortunate enough to follow him for a 15 minute practice session at Mid Ohio, I think we lapped the whole field. We shared a ride to Governor’s with Jim and Barb Harris many times. He was a family man beaming with pride when he talked about his Girls and there accomplishments. Patrick was a leader, a great competitor and proud Family Man. R.I.P. Patrick- love the memories.
