Heaven just got an angel with a big smile and a beautiful heart.
Pat spent her life surrounded by music, family and wonderful friends. Studying piano and music at a young age she found a special place within the church as an organist for 40 years. In that time she developed deep and meaningful relationships within the community of parishioners at mass, celebrating weddings and offering music to heal grieving families. Her love of music and her smile was infectious and brought joy to all who had the opportunity to cross her path.
She also had a deep passion for sports. Whether it was watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play or attending a host of MSU basketball and football games throughout the years, or glued to the TV…she was ALL IN! She would get so nervous and would rub her hands swiftly together when games got close. She loved it!
Her love of gardening and warm summer days were things Pat also held dear. Sitting on the porch, visiting with neighbors and family was a wonderful highlight for her. She had amazing neighbors on Verlinden.
She grew up knowing the importance of visiting with family, popping in for a visit after a Sunday drive, sharing life’s adventures or simple pleasures. And although she wasn’t always a chatterbox, she loved to listen. Especially if it involved a good, funny story… we loved to make her laugh! Her mere presence made everyone feel warm and welcome.
Pat also adored Christmas. Decorating the tree, the mantle and around the house, in different ways every year. Always staying creative.
In her last few years, her and her husband Bob found a community of residents and staff that made her life even more full. Everyone knew Pat. Everyone waved and said hello to Pat as they walked by. And they always knew they would get a big bright smile to greet them in return. She was beloved!
If you were there to have celebrated any part or all of the four seasons of her life, you know Pat was a blessing. Time spent with Bob and their very large family of kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, siblings and cousins were among her greatest gifts and most cherished memories. And although she suffered great loss through the years, she endured with grace, along with her strong faith in God.
She now peacefully rests within the open arms of her husband, daughter Laura and son Michael.
May we honor her with a prayer, and maybe a pancake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce to boot!
Rest in Peace, Pat.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour Ave. in Lansing. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Church, on Wednesday, for one hour prior to the Mass.

November 18, 2025 at 5:15 pmLisa, your mom was such a lovely lady and dear friend to my MIL Carolyn. They spent some wonderful time together at RCL. You also were so very kind to Carolyn. I’m so sorry your mom has passed, but she is whole again. I hadn’t seen her in quite sometime, but I did she her beautiful smile in some posts on FB from RCL events. May you and your family find comfort knowing your sweet momma is home in the arms of her loved ones gone before her..
Hugs,
