Oscar A. Krieger

Apple Valley, MN; formerly of Lansing, MI.

Age 94, passed away June 30, 2015.

Born February 23, 1921, in Coloma, Michigan, Mr. Krieger was a WWII veteran. He was with the Benton Harbor Police Department for 5 years and went into the life insurance industry where he worked for 25 years. Subsequently, he worked in real estate and retired in 1991 from the O’Leary Paint Company. He spent the last few years of his retirement in Apple Valley, MN.

 

He is survived by his 3 children, Karen (Robert) Lyons of Charlotte, NC, Mark (Ellen) Krieger of Saugatuck, MI, and Corey (Madeleine) Krieger of Apple Valley, MN; 5 grandchildren, Michael, Mark Jr., Isaac, Erika and Katya. He is survived by 1 sister, Margaret Woodward of Palmetto, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Krieger; two brothers, Ernest and Martin Krieger; 2 sisters, Leonida Doroh and Alitta Swartzlander.

 

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1001 Capitol Ave., Lansing. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W Washtenaw, from 6–8 pm July 10 and at the church from 10-11 am July 11. Memorial contributions may be made to Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary www.wls.wels.net or Operation Homefront www.operationhomefront.net.
