Olive Robinson Pettis

Age 98, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. She was born December 26, 1921, in DeWitt, Michigan. Olive was a member of Miller Road Bible Church then Grace Bible Church in Lansing. She loved God and her family. She married Elwne “Pete” Pettis October 9, 1948.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Ellsworth Robinson and Myrtle Hellen Brooks; husband, Elwne “Pete” Pettis (2005); 15 siblings; grandson, John F. Sklar Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Tiffanie Sklar.

She is survived by four sons, Dan (Raeann) Pettis of Grand Ledge, Steven Pettis of Galesburg, David (Anne) Pettis of Houghton, and Elwne “Pete” Pettis of Galesburg; two daughters, Ellen (Jim) Fenby and Terrie Dryer both of Lansing; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Ellsworth Robinson.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at Grace Bible Church, 1000 S. Canal Rd., Lansing, with Pastor Edward Lassley officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Grand Ledge. Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in loving memory of Olive Pettis, to Grace Bible Church. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

Aunt Olive the sweetest woman I ever known, I think of Blessed are the Meek when I think of you , I know you are resting in peace with our savior and loved ones who past . Thoughts and prayers with the family now , you truly were loved by them. I pray they take comfort knowing your in heaven and at peace.

Pick up grandma i will miss u for the rest of my life most people dont get to see there great grandma this long i got 23 wonderful years with u and my daughter got 3 amazing years with u she might night remember ur time together but i will ALWAYS make sure i tell her all about u love u and rest in peace in heaven

I have known Mrs. Pettis for 50 yrs. She was a wonderful person. She will be missed. My prayers and thoughts are with her family

We didn’t know Miss Olive but from all of the pictures and the sweet words I’m sure that we would have loved her also.
