Olga G. Gallegos

In Loving Memory of Olga Guadalupe Gallegos

With profound sadness, we share the passing of our beloved mother, Olga Guadalupe Gallegos on March 7, 2025, at the age of 91. She was a strong, loving woman whose unwavering devotion to her children was the foundation of her life. Her strength was quiet yet unshakable, and her love was fierce, boundless, and unconditional.

Born on February 23, 1934, in Crystal City, Texas, Olga faced life’s challenges with resilience and grace, always putting her family first. She worked tirelessly to provide for and nurture us, teaching us the value of hard work, kindness, and perseverance. No matter what life brought, she stood tall, never wavering in her love and dedication.

Her greatest joy was being a mother. She loved us deeply, with every fiber of her being, and showed that love in a million ways—through her words, her sacrifices, her laughter, and the way she always made us feel safe and cherished. She was our protector, our guide, and our greatest champion.

She is survived by her children, Mary Ochoa (Louie Ochoa), Jesus Gallegos, Ricardo Gallegos, Her Angel Baby David Gallegos, Arturo Gallegos (Cathy Gallegos), Gilbert Gallegos, Margo Cavazos, Michael Gallegos (Jenny Gallegos),  Elsa Gallegos, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, who will carry her love and strength in their hearts forever. She is now reunited with her son Roberto Gallegos, great-grandson Tyson Jesus Bryant-Muniz-Gallegos, husbands William Butler, and Jesus Gallegos (our father), along with many other family members watching over us as she always did.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 13, at Cristo Rey Church, 201 W. Miller Road, Lansing.  Visitation begins at 11:30 am, and the service will begin at 12:30.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to join the family at the church after the burial, for dinner and sharing memories.  In honor of her giving spirit, we ask that donations be made to Yash Gandhi Foundation for finding a cure for I-Cell disease –  https://www.ygf4icell.org/donate in her memory. Flowers can be sent to Estes-Leadey Funeral Home or at Cristo Rey Church.

Mom, your love made us who we are. Your strength gave us courage. Your memory will forever be our light. Rest peacefully—you will always be with us.
