Nevenka Dines
Age 95, of Lansing, MI, passed away March 14, 2018. She was born May 22, 1922, in Lansing, to Arger and Lenna Valcanoff. Nevenka and her husband, George, owned and operated Dines Restaurant in Lansing, and a gift shop in Grand Ledge. She was an active member of St. Andrew Orthodox Catholic Church and the ABMA and the Sisterhood of St. Helen.
Nevenka was preceded in death by her husband, George Dines; daughter, Dr. Lenna Dines; son, Gregory Dines; sisters, Mary Dines and Zorka Alucheff. Surviving are: her son, Geoffrey (Lisa) Dines; grandsons, George and Alexander Dines; sister, Tsveta “Tootsie” Lambo; and brother, Alexander (Margo) Valcanoff.
Viewing will be on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, beginning at 12:00 noon. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., with a Panikhida service at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Orthodox Church, c/o Estes-Leadley Funeral Homes, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing, MI 48933, for a special project to be determined later.
