Neva Lane

Mason, MI

Neva Lane, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother went to be with her Heavenly Father on November 21, 2018, at the age of 95. She passed peacefully at Green Acres Assisted Living in Mason, Michigan, after a courageous battle of Alzheimer’s. She was predeceased, in 1986, by her loving husband, Rodney. Neva is survived by her daughters Darlene “Dolly” (Carl, deceased) Mennare, Christine (Wayne) Huttenlocker, and son Rodney (Julie) Lane II. Grandchildren: Capi (Steve, deceased) Earegood, Tonia (George) Brown, Coral (Andy) Brown, Aaron (Tara) Huttenlocker, Ty (Jill) Huttenlocker, Rodney (Jessica) Lane III, and Cheryl (Christopher) Bawden. Great-Grandchildren: Kelly (Elizabeth) Brady, Jessica (Mike) Wilcox, Cortni Earegood, Sadie Earegood, Aerimya Brown, Sequoia Brown, Miakoda Brown, Brandon Huttenlocker, Trevor Huttenlocker, Andrew Huttenlocker, Austin Huttenlocker, Kaitlyn Lane, Marissa Lane, Brooklyn Lane, Jenna Sheldon, and Kameryn Bawden. Great-Great-Grandchildren: Hailey Wilcox, Izebella Wilcox, and Jayden Brady; and multiple nieces and nephews. Neva was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.

Neva was born in Jonesville, Michigan, in 1923, and attended Jonesville High School. During her high school years, she played basketball. As a young adult she was a member of a fast-pitch softball league where she met her husband. After high school she attended cosmetology school and worked as a cosmetologist for a few years. After that, she was the Office Manager at Bishop Furniture in Lansing, Michigan, until the store closed. She continued her career as the Office Manager at Art Van Furniture, Lansing, Michigan, and then the Art Van Furniture Store in Jackson, Michigan, until retirement. She enjoyed bowling, dancing, and listening to music.

A celebration of life will be held at Eden United Brethren in Christ Church, 1938 Eden Road, Mason, Michigan, on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Bentz officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Eden United Brethren in Christ Church.

Prayers for the family and friends. Great memories and even small memories of my aunt. She even taught me how to tie my shoes.

I worked with Neva for a very long time at Art Van furniture. She was an awesome lady.

my thoughts and prayers go out for neva and all her family.neva was the catalyst that brought me to my career at art van furniture.it was because of her that i was able to put forth 37 years a few with her at art van.one cannot ever forget her infectious laugh it was such you new she was a mischievous lady.thank you neva i will never forget you.all my love forever.mr.t.
