Monica C. (Jansz) MacLennan

Born February 9, 1939 in Labookellie Estates, Sri Lanka daughter of the late Henry A.W. and Freda M. (Linden) Jansz passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.  Her life was filled with faith, family, and love.

Monica was preceded in death by her husband of over 39 years, Job.

Surviving are her children, Tania and Mike Matz (Courtney and Matthew Polos); Maria and John Fisher (Ryan and Sean); MaryAnne and John MacIntosh (Amber, Jeremy, and Alura Reist); and Christopher MacLennan (Tyler and Connor).

Monica led an active religious life. She was a faithful servant of the Blue Army as well as being a member of the moving on club. Monica was a cherished teacher of a Montessori School for over 25 years, owning her own school.  She was an entrepreneur and published author.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow Hwy., Lansing, MI 48917.  Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lansing.  The family will receive friends at Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Thursday, May 20th, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. With a Rosary at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions, in loving memory of Monica, may be made to the Advent House or the Greater Lansing Food Bank.

A devoted Catholic and a very dear friend…Monica was a talented seamstress
and was always thinking and caring for others. She will be tremendously missed.

What a sweet lady! She was always so fun and positive. I enjoyed our many selfies we took together at Moving On Club meetings! 😉 My prayers are with her family and friends!

I met Monica for the first time at Courtney and Matt’s wedding. Monica was a lot fun and her and I did a lot of laughing. So glad I was able to meet her. Our condolences to the entire family! May god bless all of you! Monica will now and forever be your angel! Love and hugs to all!
