I know it is late but I am sad to hear the passing of Millicent Lane. I grew up living across the street from her in Groesbeck and she was the kindest and sweetest lady. I loved going over to her and Roger’s house and playing with her percaline dolls and china. I hung out with her grandson Ryan as he was at her house a lot and I hope he and his family are doing well. Millie babysat my sister and I often. One time she babysat me around the time I was learning to read and I read her a book which was illustrated with pigs. She made me a sweatshirt with an image of one of the pages of the book. I loved the sweatshirt so much that when I grew out of it she made me a bigger one; my children wear these sweatshirts today and love them. My family has always held Millie close in our hearts even when we moved away! We love her dearly and feel fortunate to have had her in our lives.

We were updating our Christmas card list and wondering about Millie. She and husband Roger were respected journalists in our circle of reporters and editors. Our sympathies and regards to their family
