Mildred “Millie” Handziak

Millie HandziakAge 84, passed peacefully on January 11, 2022. She was born July 31, 1937, in Moorestown, Michigan. Mildred dedicated her life to the service of others, as President of the Women’s Auxiliary for the American Legion, a reading aide at Sycamore Elementary, in childcare at EC3, active in the Catholic Church including teaching Catechism and singing in the choir, and as a healthcare aide for Kelly’s Home Healthcare, retiring in 1995.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Edward and daughter Phyllis Anderson. Surviving is 6 children, Edward Handziak Jr., Stanley Handziak, Richard (Karla) Handziak, Beth Gibbs, Todd (Tammy) Handziak, Sarah (Brian) Middleton, 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, her brother Joseph Brown, and sister Eunice Brown.

Update: Due to the surge in Covid, the family has decided to not go forward with the visitation and Mass tomorrow. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. A graveside service will be held at Bosworth Cemetery, 6737 Stine Rd., Olivet, Michigan, at 1:45 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or to Best Friends Animal Society, in memory of Mildred Handziak.

So sorry about your Mom. I heard so many wonderful things about her and I’m glad I was able to meet her and spend a little time with her. May the Lord give all of you the strength you need at this time. You will continue to be in our prayers.

Grandma I will never forget all you did for me! You will be so missed . Your without a doubt the most loving caring person I ever knew. Fly high I will see you again.
