Michael Henry Schreiner

Age 79, of Lansing, MI, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Dimondale, MI. Born November 17, 1946, in Greenville, MI, to Rit and Bessie Schreiner, Michael graduated from Ferris State University with an associate’s degree. In 1968, he was drafted into the Army and served two years in Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for nearly three decades as a draftsman for the State of Michigan Highway Department. His true passion, however, was photography, and he maintained a flourishing professional business for over 30 years, focusing primarily on weddings and families.
In 1967, Michael married Miss Nancy Ellen Mumaw. They celebrated 58 wonderful years together, hand in hand, heart to heart. Their only son, Rich, was born in 1971, later giving them three grandsons: Elias, Oliver, and Adam.
Michael was an avid bowler and enjoyed making creative photography collages on his computer. In bowling, he reached the coveted 300 game three times. He cherished the challenges of the sport and the camaraderie of league play. He was an intelligent man with a great sense of humor, always quick with a joke, keeping family and friends smiling.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; his son, Rich (Jeanette); his grandsons, Elias, Oliver, and Adam; his sister, Mary (Jim) Smejkal; his uncle, Louie Williams; and his beloved aunt, Iris (Craig) Rusnell.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 N. Cedar St. in Holt. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, the 14th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time at Noon. A luncheon will follow at the Delhi Café, 4625 E. Willoughby Rd., Holt, MI 48842.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
He will remain forever in our hearts.
