Michael Anthony Scavarda
Holt, Michigan.
Born August 9, 1963, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, son of Joseph and Erma (Olin) Scavarda, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at the age of 60.
Mike was a graduate of Holt High School, Class of 1981 and was the owner/operator of S&J Trucking. When he wasn’t driving a truck he enjoyed working on them. He also spent many hours at Spartan Speedway working on Jimmy’s race car.
Mike is survived by 3 sons, Jimmy Scavarda and his daughter Bristol, Charlie (Brandy) Scavarda and their son Bentley, and Steven Scavarda and his children, Cameron and Caitlyn; his mother, Erma Brunton; 3 brothers, Patrick (Cheryl) Scavarda, Pete (Dawn) Scavarda, and Tom (Kate) Scavarda; sister, Jolene Mitchell along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Scavarda.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 N. Cedar St., Holt, on Tuesday, July 30th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 2520 W. Willow St., Lansing, MI 48917, with Msgr. Bernard Reilly officiating.
