October 19, 2011 at 10:46 amI will miss Merdene and her lovely smile. She and I have had some great conversations that made us both laugh a lot. They are now lovingly resting in the “treasured memories” portion of my mind.
Jack, you know I care very much about your well-being and that of the “kids”. We’ve been neighbors for 48 years which makes us all feel like extended family. My love is wrapped around all of you.
Warmly,
Marie

October 19, 2011 at 3:07 pmI am heart broken to learn of Merdene’s passing. She was my legal secretary for many years both in the Office of Attorney General and when I left for private practice I asked her to follow me, and she did. She was the most efficient, caring and thoughtful person I had the good fortune of knowing and working with. Merdene was so important to the functioning of the Consumer Protection Division and later the law office of Moran and Bladen. She mentored many young women skilled in secretarial skills but novices at legal secretary work. She made my office “hummm…” She will be greatly missed. Paula and I will come by for visitation this Friday evening.
