Matthew Gunnar White

Lansing, Michigan

Born March 5, 1991 in Abiline, Texas passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the age of 33.

Matthew is survived by his wife of 10 years, Susan White; their children, Marvin, Ellen-Marie, and Xaviar White; father, Mark (Kathy) White; mother, Marcella Hanks; paternal grandparents, Mel (Susan) White; maternal grandfather, Skip Habercamp; sisters, Holly-Marie Harner, Saraphina Hanks, and Locklynn White along with many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.  Matthew also leaves behind his beloved leader dog, Zev.

Matthew was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, EllenJo White; maternal grandmother, Alice Habercamp and his first leader dog, Quincy

Matthew graduated from South Haven High School where he was a wrestler.  He enjoyed hunting and was very active with Brazilian JuJitsu, Tae Kwon Do, and Krav Maga.  He had been employed with Peckham Industries for the past 10 years.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 549 E. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, MI with Rev. Matthew A. Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service.

Those who wish may make memorial contributions, in loving memory of Matthew, to the family or Leader Dogs for the Blind.

Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.
