Matthew Lee Tenniswood

   Matthew passed away at age 31, due to asthma complications, on October 14, 2010.  He was born June 25, 1979 in Lansing, Michigan, the son of Rod and Nancy Tenniswood.  Matthew  graduated from Grand Ledge High School in 1997.  He then attended LCC and MSU, studying history and psychology.  Matthew was employed at Rod’s Plumbing & Heating as an Estimator / Project Coordinator, after obtaining his Journeyman Plumbing license.  Matthew was extremely loyal, kind, caring and gentle. He loved the Lord, loved his family, and his many friends.  He had many talents.  He was a singer / songwriter, composing and singing songs for each of his nieces and his nephew after they were born.  He loved to sing and play the hymns and had written several, plus many other songs.  He excelled with his guitar and piano.  Matthew also had an amazing knowledge of history. 

   Matthew is survived by his parents, Rod and Nancy Tenniswood, his brother, Michael and his wife Katy and their children: Gina, Isabel, and Julia; sister, Melanie and her husband Timothy Comer, and their children: Patrick, Anna, and Ella.  He is also survived by his loving grandmother, Thelma Easterling, and grandfather, Howard Tenniswood, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

   Matthew was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. 

   Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.  Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday.
