Mary “Sharon” Ryan

Mary Sharon Ryan, of Lansing, MI, age 83, passed away February 19, 2019. She was born February 2, 1936, in Detroit, MI, to the late James Ryan, Sr. and Rachel Ryan.

Sharon was a graduate of Marywood Academy, Grand Rapids, MI, and Loretta College of Nursing, Denver, CO. She worked as an RN at Blodgett Hospital, Grand Rapids, Detroit Children’s Hospital, Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, and for the State of Michigan Health Department. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, playing cards, singing and traveling.

She is survived by her sister Elaine C. Giglio, brother John Patrick “J.P.” (Donna) Ryan, plus many nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by sisters Raemarie (Robert) Mitchell, Mary Jo Ryan, and Colleen Amicucci, and brothers James E. (Marie) Ryan and William Ryan.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at St. Mary Cathedral, Lansing. Memorial contributions may be made to Grandhaven Living Center, Attn: Administrator, 3145 W. Mt. Hope Ave., Lansing, MI 48911.
