Mary Margaret Haltom

Mary Margaret Haltom, 77 years old, from Holt, MI, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026, after her courageous battle with cancer. Mary persevered until the end.

Words cannot express our deepest emotions and heartfelt love that we had for her.

Mary was born on October 21, 1948, to her loving parents, Dennis and Catherine Fink.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Lansing, working various jobs along with her latter position as a caregiver.

Mary had a very kind heart, looking for the benefit of others over herself. Her hobbies included bingo, a game of cards, knitting, along with Sunday drives with her husband.

One of her passions was operating an antique business together with her husband.

Mary was a quiet listener, a source of wisdom, and a true cornerstone of our family.

Mary lived a simple life, was a devoted wife and mother to her two children and loved them dearly. She was well known for her gift of excellent cooking, especially during the holidays with the family.

Mary is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert Haltom; her children, Rob and Rick (Kathy); her brother, Robert Fink; her grandchildren, Ashley and Katelyn; and her great-grandchildren, Miles and Gino.

Her family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 Cedar St., Holt, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026.  The graveside service will be private.

Mary has finally gone home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus.

I was so saddened to hear of Mary Margarets passing. Sincere condolences to the family of Mary Margaret and her brother Bob. I have many wonderful childhood memories spending time with Kay, Denny, Chuck, Mary Margaret and Bob both in East Lansing and Horsehead Lake. As first time homeowners my parents, Henry and Rosalie Nichols, we’re fortunate to have Denny and Kay as their neighbors. The four of them remained lifelong friends. Even though all of us children went our separate ways and lost touch after Denny and Kay passed away it was wonderful to see Mary Margaret at my father’s celebration of life November 2013. Hopefully you will all have wonderful memories to sustain you as you go through this most difficult time. Cathy Nichols
