Mary Louise Braun

Lansing

Mary was born on the family farm in Owosso, Michigan, on April 2, 1930, to Robert and Hazel Stewart. She passed away February 28, 2017.

She met her future husband, Bill, on a blind date in October of 1948 and they were married on January 17, 1949. They drove to Indiana to elope. They just celebrated their 68^th wedding anniversary.

Mary had a versatile career, ending with her retirement from First Federal of Michigan. She was a member of the State of Michigan State Club. She loved playing card games, shopping, and being with her family. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, William; son, Michael (Julie); daughter, Christine (John III) Kutt; grandchildren, Dan, Scott and Kristin; and great-grandsons, Gavin and Lucas. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Dale and sister-in-law Lee.

We would love to thank the wonderful people at Brookdale Delta who have cared for Mary during her stay there. Everyone was fantastic! Also, we want to thank everyone at Compassus Hospice for their gentle and loving care during her time of need.

Mary always believed you are never truly dead until the last person who knew you has died.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at First United Methodist Church of Lansing, 3827 Delta River Dr., Lansing. Her family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
