Martha Ann Windsor

Martha Ann (Pecktil) Windsor, 85, of Sierra Vista, AZ, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2019. She was born on February 15, 1934, in Maple Rapids, Michigan. She was a very independent and strong woman. She treasured her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her horse, Gia. She really enjoyed cooking and baking. She always brought cookies and pumpkin rolls to the soldiers returning from maneuvers in Fort Lewis, WA, and Fort Rucker, AL.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband: George; her parents: Lydia and Fred Pecktil; her sisters: Dorothy Prowant and Lilian Ruth Caudy; her brothers: Lyle Pecktil, Floyd Pecktil, and Milo Pecktil; and her son: Brian Schafer.

Martha is survived by her six children: Milo Schafer, Colin Schafer, Harold “Craig” Schafer, Marla Schafer, Margaret Evangelesta, and Ida VanBeelen. Also, survived by her grandchildren: Lena Schafer, Carla Martin, Katrina Woods, Brian Schafer, Amanda Loveland, Angela Romero, Joseph Baldez Jr., Brent VanBeelen, and Kelsie VanBeelen. She is also survived by her 12 great-grandchildren, and many more family and friends. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, in Lansing, MI, on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Loved mom dearly. She touched soooo many hearts through the years. Blessed beyond measure she is finally at peace. We all love you mom. You are missed more than you can ever imagine. We will try to make you proud of us all as you watch over all of us. Give dad a big hug around the neck from me!!

Rest In Peace Marty. You were a very nice mother in law. I still am the keeper of a lot of recipies you gave me. You were an awesome cook and a great pie maker. I am so happy that you are now joined in heaven with your beloved husband George. What a great couple you were.
