Mark Joe Cantu

Mark Cantu, age 29, of Lansing, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 5, 2021. Our family has suffered the tremendous loss of our son, brother, father, and greatest love. He was born on October 29, 1991, in Lansing, MI. He graduated from Oasis High School in Mt. Pleasant in 2009. At the age of 29, Mark was known for his salt & pepper hair and carefree love of life. He was the strong silent type but would blossom into the most wise and charismatic person anyone has ever met.

Mark is survived by his loving partner of 13 years, Rebecca Jackson, their three sons, Mark Joe II (11), Rouvario (2), and Manolo (7 months); his mother, Amanda Gomez (Eddie Rodriguez); brothers, Adam Cantu Jr. and Matthew Cantu; grandfather, Domingo Gomez Sr.; aunts, Geri Ziolkowski and Mary Harper; uncle, Ray Harper; niece, Savannah Cantu; nephews, Romeo Cantu and Matthew Cantu II; and many cousins who loved him dearly.  He was preceded in death by his grandmother Gladys Gomez.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 12, 2021, 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St. in Lansing. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, 2500 Mt. Hope Rd., Okemos, MI.
