Mark A. Moore

Age 76, of Lansing, MI, passed away September 28, 2024. He was born February 25, 1948, in Lansing, MI, to Howard and Inez Moore.

Mark was a one-of-a-kind man. He loved his wife and family with all his heart. Ginger and Mark were soulmates from high school and were married for 57 years. As a young man he grew up in the hardware industry before evolving in Interior Design. He worked with McDaniels Kitchen and Bath for over 25 years. He enjoyed working with many local builders and always strived for excellence.

He was a talented musician and loved singing and playing the blues and rock and roll. He cherished the jam sessions on his guitars with family and friends and loved recording and writing his own songs. He loved taking fishing trips to Fletchers Pond in Alpena, Michigan, with his family, and going to the many casinos in Michigan and around the country.  Mark also loved spending time with his cat, Herkemer.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Macklem, and his brother, Vance Moore. Surviving family are his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Moore, son Marc Moore, granddaughter Laney Moore, daughter Elizabeth Everett, son-in-law Matthew Everett, grandson Myles Everett, brother Denny Moore, sister-in-law Linda Elsworth-Moore, nephew Drake and wife Tarina Macklem, and nephew Brooks and wife Cathy Macklem.

Uncle Mark. Words. Words don’t describe one of the most gentle human beings I have ever known. Being around you growing up was like a beacon of warmth. Your smile lit up the room and you ALWAYS had a kind, gentle thing to say to me. Never did you boast or exude any negativity to anyone. Just pure goodness. I love these memories of you. Creating space for love and acceptance for everyone around you. Regardless of our flaws. Your family is hurting bad now, but it is out of pure love for the person you were and the love you made everyone feel. I hope that this next journey you are on takes you to places you only imagined possible.

Rest Easy.

Ginger,

I have so many great memories of growing up next to you and Mark, many of which centered around an impromptu jam session or a long sit-out on the front stoop with other neighbors and extended family. You and Mark instilled my love of being a homebody at a young age. Who needs to go anywhere with this much love and fun, always with a dash of moto-sports? My heart goes out to you, Beth, and the rest of your family.

Rest in peace, Big Mark.

Love,

Dearest Ginger,
We are so saddened to learn of your husband’s passing. Unfortunately, we didn’t personally know Mark, but the one thing that came through loud and clear was the remarkable devotion you had for each other. Mark was clearly an extraordinary man, and we thank him for always taking such good care of someone whom we absolutely adore. Our deepest sympathy and prayers for comfort, strength and peace are with you, your family and friends.

Uncle Mark,
Thank you for all that you are and all that you did for me. Because of you, I know the name and the band of any classic rock song that comes on the radio. It was more fun when you would play the guitar and make me guess.
I’ll never forget playing horse. you let me listen to albums on your stereo. Because of you I learned about the Beatles, the blues and to love the Lions no matter. You are the only person I know that could watch multiple movies in an hour, only because you fast forward to the best parts. I have so many wonderful memories. You are a part of my heart. I love you
