Marjorie A. Wilcox

Marjorie passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 11, 2021; she was 89. She was born April 11, 1931, in Lansing, to the late August and Bernice (LeSeny) Brenke.

Marjorie enjoyed knitting. She enjoyed going to the casino, and up north to the cabin. Most important to Marjorie was family time, especially spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She and her husband, Carl, were business partners for the majority of their lives, owning several businesses in the area, including Bobcat of Lansing. She was baptized into the Lutheran church. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her sons, David (Susan) Wilcox and Dean (Cindy) Wilcox; grandchildren, Ryan (Kacie) Wilcox, Chris (Danielle) Wilcox, Elizabeth (Kevin) Hedley, Todd (Amy) Wilcox, Trevor (Shelley) Wilcox, Lindsey (Jeremy) Clark, Nicole (Abe) Schaaf, and Rob (Brielle) Hollebrands; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Farynn, Paytin, Dakota, Ashton, Rylee, Mykaylah, Rihanna, Aiden, Emily, Joseph, Michael, Ethan, Ella, Madelyn, Charlotte, Lewis, and Evalyn; several nieces and nephews; and best furry friend, Koko II. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Carl Wilcox, Jr.; 3 brothers, Bill, Bob, and Clarence Brenke; and stepmom, Effie Brenke.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing. Family and friends can pay their respects beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice or the Capital Area Humane Society. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

What a sweet spirited gentle woman. I enjoyed our occasional chats when the neighborhood ladies would gather to have lunch. She will be missed. My condolences to the family as you grieve the loss of someone so precious.

Sorry to hear of Marge’s passing. She and my brother had a good, and long life together. She has a large and dedicated family. You cannot ask for more than that in life. My prayers go out to all of the family.

Sorry to hear about Marge’s passing. It was always interesting working for her and Carl as a stock boy at Carl’s Market when I was in high school.
