Marjorie A. Stanton
Age 82, of Lansing, passed away January 28, 2013, in Sebring, FL. She was born June 13, 1930, in Ionia, MI, to Henry and Ruth Jackson.
She graduated from Belding High School in 1948 and went on to work for Orleans Telephone Co., Consumers Power, and retired in 1986 from Waverly Schools. She belonged to O.E.S. #45 for 40 years and was a member of the Waverly 39ers. She enjoyed quilting with her best friend JoAn Pietila.
She is survived by children, Gary (Tharsilla) Stanton, Philip Baines and Jill Stanton; grandchildren, David and Christine Stanton; great-granddaughter, Lillian Grace Young; brother, William Jackson; sister, Jackie (Gordon) Ketchum; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard in 2009, and brother Donald Jackson in 2000.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star of Michigan, Benevolence Fund or Education Fund, 13464 Preston Dr., Suite 250, Marshall, MI 49068 or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
