Marilyn Frayre
Age 88, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026. She was born October 21, 1937, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to the late Kenneth and Helen (Ulam) Dargitz.
Marilyn and her siblings all attended the nearby College Elementary School of Central Michigan University. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1955 and married her high school sweetheart, Roger Frayre in 1956. While Roger got his degree at Central Michigan University, he and Marilyn lived in Central New Married Housing on campus. After spending a year in San Diego, California, Marilyn and Roger moved back to Lansing, Michigan to raise their family. She then attended Lansing Community College for a period of time. Marilyn retired from the Lansing School District as an Instructional Assistant in the elementary, middle school and Adult E.D.
Marilyn enjoyed creating art, reading, learning, working outdoors and her road trips with Roger. She loved Roger and her family dearly.
She is survived by her children, Danny (Linda) Frayre and Elizabeth Frayre; grandchildren, Ashly (Kammy) Frayre, Matthew (Tracie) Frayre, Cheryl (Rory) Frayre-McCaslin, and Victoria (Basil) Frayre-Cooper; great-grandchildren, Carson, Brody, Camden, Preston, Jameson and Layla Frayre; daughter-in-law, Laura Frayre; brother-in-law, Tony Frayre; and nephew, Bart (Haruna) Faulkner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger Frayre; son, Steven Frayre; brother, Gale; and sisters, Diane and Darlene.
Honoring Marilyn’s wishes there will be no service. Memorial contributions may be made to Ele’s Place in her memory.
Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.
