Marie A. Pappas

Age 77, passed away March 14, 2017.  She was born January 13, 1940, in Flint, to Edgar and Adele Price.  Marie graduated from Sexton High School (January, 1958) and was a member of Holy Cross Church.  She had worked at Allstate Insurance, as a tech at Meijer Pharmacy, and as an aide at Willow Street School.  She loved bingo and playing cards.

Surviving are:  her husband of 58 years, Danny Pappas; 4 children, Sandra (Dennis)  O’Connor, Cindy (Ricky) Norris, Julie Dilley and Dan (Jennifer) Pappas; 6 grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley, Erin, Anna, Eric and Gunner; 4 sisters, Carol (Max) Walasek, Margaret (Mike) Simunic, Denise (Mark) Zuhlke, Sally Yeoman; and sister-in-law, Darlene Price.  She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher in 2007, as well as 2 brothers, Phillip and Douglas Price.  Her family wishes to express a special thanks to Marie’s son-in-law and “special angel” Dennis O’Connor for the special care he provided.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Ave., Lansing.  Her family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Greater Lansing Area Meals on Wheels  in memory of Marie Pappas.

So sorry for the loss of your mom. May God surround you with his love and strength. Take comfort in knowing she is resting now and at peace. I was lucky to have known her. Love you all.

I was fortunate to work with Marie at Willow for many years and
have very fond memories of her.
