Margaret “Marge” Marie Caron

Holt, MI

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude that we announce the passing of Margaret “Marge” Marie Caron, who peacefully left this world on April 16th, 2025, at the age of 97, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 15th, 1927, in Crystal Falls, Michigan, Marge was the daughter of George and Mary Kudwa. Throughout her long and fulfilling life, she lived with boundless love, devotion to family, and a commitment to service that touched everyone she knew.

Marge and her late husband Clement Joseph Caron built a beautiful life filled with cherished memories and shared dreams. Her legacy continues through her five children: Kenneth (Connie) Caron, Kurt (Elizabeth) Caron, Keith (Brenda) Caron, Kristine (Daniel) Shroyer, and Klement (Carrie) Caron. Marge was also a proud and loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren: Shawn, Simon, Seth, Amy, Julie, Rachel, Cole, Kevin, Macy, Daniel Jr., Cameron and Dalton; and 12 great-grandchildren: Thayer, Ryan, Hayden, Spencer, Jackson, Cora, Ella, Lennon, Sarah, Noah, Jasper and Oliver; all of whom she loved and adored deeply.

Marge grew up on a family farm, where she learned the values of hard work and love. At age 18, she left home to begin a new chapter in Chicago, Illinois, where she started her career as a telephone operator with Illinois Bell. In time, Marge moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she continued her work with Michigan Bell until she met her beloved husband and were married in 1954. The couple later relocated to Lansing, ultimately settling in Holt, where they raised their family. Once her kids were grown, Marge rejoined the workforce as a telephone operator at Michigan State University. She was an active parishioner at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Parish and often volunteered her time to various church events. She set an extraordinary example of living a surrendered life to her faith.

Marge was known for her strong work ethic, but it was in her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother where she found the greatest joy. She had a passion for cooking, baking, and sewing, but her most cherished moments were spent with her family—whether celebrating birthdays, holidays, or simply sharing time over coffee, cards, or a friendly game of cribbage. Marge loved to bowl and played on a league for many years. Marge made every gathering feel special and her love was the heart of every family moment.

Marge was preceded in death by husband Clement, 2 grandchildren (Samuel and Chelsea), her parents, George and Mary Kudwa, and her large and loving family of siblings: six brothers, Lou, John, Frank, Ed, George and Chester; and six sisters, Ernestine, Nellie, Mary, Helen, Rose and Alice.

Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Marge’s warmth, kindness, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She gave freely of her time, her love, and her heart, and her memory will continue to guide her family for generations to come.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the extended family, friends and caregivers who supported Marge during her final days.

The family will welcome family and friends at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24th, 2025, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3815 S. Cedar St., Lansing, Michigan 48910. Interment will follow immediately at Maple Ridge Cemetery, 4149 East Willoughby Rd., Holt, Michigan 48842.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church.

Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

She was my godmother.wanted her to hit 100. Rapture is real close too. She could have gone up without tasting death. Were not supposed to die like this.True believer live long and strong and only pass when their mission or destiny is fulfilled.you chose when you die. Devil doesn’t hold you in fear with premature death. Bible mandates you with 120 years but you can have as many as you need to accomplish God’s will for your life.
