Margaret H. Turner
Passed away January 17th, 2026 at the age of 99+. Born March 29th, 1926 to Rex and Mabel Nichols. She was Valedictorian of her Webberville high school class. Margaret worked at the Michigan Health Department until she married Leslie Turner in 1947. They moved to Panama for two years where he was stationed with the air force. Margaret and Les enjoyed many years of traveling as representatives of Holt Kiwanis at the local, state, national, and international levels. They had two daughters, Nancy and Lisa. Margaret was a stay at home mom until 1964 when she went to work for Holt Schools, retiring after 25+ years. Margaret had a deep faith and was active in their church, Holt United Methodist, for 60+ years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, and by daughter Nancy.
Surviving to cherish her memory, daughter Lisa (Riley) Henderson, son-in-law Jim Evans, grandchildren Sarah (Tim) Evans-Cain, Jason (Tiffany) Evans, Derek (Lyndsy) Henderson, and Olivia Henderson. As well as 4 great-grandchildren.
Our family would like to express special thanks to the staff of the Willows of Okemos for their skilled and tender care in the last years of Mom’s life. Also, the team from Heart-to-Heart Hospice for making her last months more comfortable.
In lieu of memorial gifts, live life well and spend time with those you love. Time flies-
Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

January 19, 2026 at 1:59 pmI was saddened to hear of the passing of Margaret. I had the privilege of knowing Margaret through Kiwanis, and she truly was a great lady. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to service left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
I especially remember the many travels Margaret shared with her husband, Les—experiences that reflected their love of people, fellowship, and the joy they found in being together. Margaret’s spirit will live on through the friendships she built and the lives she touched along the way.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

January 21, 2026 at 9:39 amSorry to hear of Margaret passing. We had 30 years with Margaret and Les through Holt UMC and in Kiwanis until we moved back to our home state of North Carolina. Thinking of all the family. Sharon and Gary Parrott
