Marcella E. (Harvat) Stachwick

Marcella StachwickAge 100, passed away at her home on January 2, 2023.  She was born September 29, 1922, in Spokane, WA, to John and Eleaveth (Weigum) Harvat.  Marcella’s family owned the Harvat Sheep Company and Ranch in Montana where her mom owned The Pin Cushion.  Marcella was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lansing and she was a member of the Altar Guild for 40 years.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Stachwick; son-in-law, Dennis Macholz; and sisters, Gloria, Loretta, Rosemary, and Ruth.  She is survived by daughters, Marsha Macholz and Cathryn Stachwick; grandchildren, Curran Macholz, and Marissa Macholz (Jeff Doorlag); and several nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, McLaren Hospice, or Greater Lansing Food Bank in memory of Marcella Stachwick.  Online condolences may be left for her family at www.EstesLeadley.com.

Dear Cathryn and family,

On behalf of St. Paul’s Altar Guild, our sincere sympathies on the passing of your Mother, Grandmother and Aunt. We will forever remember Marcella’s beautiful smile and devotion to St. Paul’s.

I just learned of Marcella’s passing today. My deepest sympathy to Marsha, Cathy, Curran, Marissa and Jeff. Loving thoughts and prayers are sent to you all.
