Dear Laura,
I am sending you my sympathy for the loss of your father. It is always hard to lose a parent. You probably will not remember me but I remember you as the cutest 5 year old. I was your kindergarten teacher at Red Cedar. You were in my first class and for Christmas, you gave me an ornament for the tree. I still hang that ornament every year and. I. Think of you. My kids and grand kids know all about you. That was so long ago but the memory is like it was just yesterday. Treasure those memories of your dad.
Sincerely, Mrs. Viol

Dear Laura & Amy,

I will always love your dad, Marc, and miss him often. He was a great human being and an ideal friend. I, my (late) wife and six children remain heavily indebted to Marc for our survival and successes in the USA. He had a big good heart who gave so much to others … and thus passed an admirable life. Again, we will always love him and miss him often.

Sincerely,

Malek Towghi & Children

Dear Laura, Amy and Gola,

I know Marc through his work with the Society for the Study of Midwestern Literature. He always welcomed new members and encouraged us to participate fully in the annual conferences. He was kind to everyone and worked very hard to make our conferences successful and run smoothly. I enjoyed his writing, which he often presented at the conferences. I will miss him very much.

I am sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Best wishes.

Although it has been many years since working in Lifelong Education Programs with Marc, I remember him as a very kind and thoughtful person. May his family find enduring comfort in the fact that he lived a good life, and made a difference as a teacher and scholar. Rest in Peace, Marc.

With sincere condolences –
