Fred “Manny” Stock

Loving father and grandfather passed away on Dec. 6, 2018, at the age of 67. Born in Erlangen, Germany, Fred came to America with his parents and brother at the age of 8. He graduated from Everett High School and pursued a career in the transportation industry. From early on, Fred developed a love for music, playing the drums in various local bands, churches and events throughout his life. Fred enjoyed golfing, watching MSU Sports, working on classic cars and being with friends and family.  Fred worked at Diamond Reo, Capital Cadillac as the Service Manager and retired from MDOT.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Marianne Stock. Fred is survived by his children,  Sallie Thrush (Brian), Christopher Stock (Kristin) and Jonathan Stock (Danielle); brother, Rudi Stock (Karen); nieces and nephews, Melissa (Dan), Mike, Danielle, Chase, Clayton and Nicole; grandchildren, Makayla, Gabrielle, Colt, Brooklyn, Blain, Braxton and Breslyn; great-grandchild, Brinley; stepmother, Elfriede Ganser Stock; and his best friend, Larry Gilroy (Susie).

The funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.  His family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday.  Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Fred Stock.  Special thanks to the loving staff at Maplewood in Eaton Rapids and the Sparrow Neuro ICU Staff/Physicians for all of their kindness and care.

I worked for Fred at Story Olds for a few years he had a very outgoing personality and was a great boss. Fred was like a big brother to me and a friend. My condolences to his family and Fred RIP.
