Mamie L. Perez

Age 94, of Lansing, MI, passed away June 24, 2023 at the Dobie Road Ingham County Medical Care. She was born June 7, 1929 in Morris, Texas, to the late Santos and Modesta (Roderiguez) Luna.

Mamie was hard working and dedicated to everything she did throughout her entire life. She was a dedicated homemaker, she provided the very best to her family as an excellent cook, baker, loved to sew, quilt, and garden, everyone in the neighborhood would comment on how nice she and Jose kept their yard and home. Mamie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.  Mamie was also a dedicated member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church.

She is survived by her children: Olga “Jeannie” Perez, Patricia “Peggy” Larrinaga, Joe (Gloria) Perez, and Jesse (Agatha) Perez; 11 grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many other extended family members.

Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 60 years Jose G. Perez, 10 brothers and 2 sisters, and a son-in-law Barbaro Larrinaga.

A special thank you to the staff of both Dobie Road Ingham County Medical Care, and Compassus Hospice.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Cristo Rey Church, 201 W. Miller Rd., Lansing. Her family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Inurnment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Compassus Hospice. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Mommy…where do I begin? I will miss you deeply and will cherish the moments we had together, Good or Bad we seemed to always forgive and forget the bumpy parts and remained Mother and Daughter-In-Law,which I am forever greatfull. You instilled in me more than you will ever know. I was blessed with two beautiful Mother’s. I will carry you in my heart and speak your name always Until We meet again. I LOVE YOU.
