Lyn Wilson

Born February 20, 1938, in Michigan City, Indiana, daughter of the late Clarence (Mildred) Studer. Lyn went home to Glory on Friday, November 23, 2018, at age 80. She was of Lansing, Michigan.

Lyn was a caring mother to her five children, David (Paula) Wilson, Amanda Wilson, Stuart (Angie) Wilson, Larry (Melissa) Wilson, and Diane Wilson; Grandma to her beloved grandchildren, Eric Wilson, Bethani Conzen, Kyle Wilson, Tyler Wilson, Trevor Wilson, Derek Wilson, Ashlee Schmidt, Jordan Wilson, Jacob Wilson, and Jonah Wilson; and Great-Grandma to sixteen great-grandchildren! She is also survived by her brother, John Studer, and her sister, Diane (Roy) Hertzog.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her loving husband, Larry Wilson.

Lyn was married to her husband Larry for 44 years. During that time, she raised five children. Four years into their marriage, Larry became a pastor. She spent 40 years as a pastor’s wife. She was very active in their ministry. She taught Sunday school, worked with the music ministry, and started a ministry for widows, at Holt Baptist Church. Lyn was a mighty prayer warrior, an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, loved to cook and visit with friends. However her most favorite past time was spending time with her great grandchildren.

The funeral for Lyn will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at Holt Baptist Church, 2020 Dean Ave., Holt, MI. The family will receive friends for visitation at 12:00 p.m., before the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to Holt Baptist Church. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel.

Lyn was always a joy to be around. May her family rest in the great truth of 2 Corinthians 1:1-3…”the God of all comfort!”

She was one of my mentors in Jesus, as I watched and listened to her run her home, and serve her church family, and love her husband. Mike and I will always cherish the memory of she and Pastor.

Lyn will be greatly missed. I enjoyed spending time with her, she had such a sense of humor, a love for her family and her Lord. She enjoyed life and loved to encourage other widows in our church family. I will always remember her kindness and love for others.
