Lucinda A. Sanchez

Age 100, of Lansing, MI, passed away in San Antonio, TX, on April 22, 2022. She was born February 2, 1922, in Devine, TX, to Jesus and Ana “Anita” Anguiano.

Lucinda retired after 14 years working in the Ingham County Health Department – Family Planning Division. She read her bible daily, was active in her church, and taught Sunday School for many years. She married Dionicio P. Sanchez in San Antonio, TX, on December 19, 1943. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Her family was her greatest joy; she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children, John (Lydia) Sanchez, Ricardo (Cathy) Sanchez, Irene (Richard Garza) Lopez-Garza, and Olga (Ramiro) Briseño; 11 grandchildren, John (Veronica) Sanchez, Jr., Christian (Marta) Sanchez, Lisa (Adam) Mikolajczak, Javier (Sandy) Sanchez, Lydia (William Hubbard) Sanchez-Hubbard, Damien (Katty) Sanchez, Olivia Sanchez, Gabriel (Debbie) Lopez, Sergio Lopez, Miguel (Nadia) Briseño, and Veronica (Adam) Tury; 14 great-grandchildren and was expecting her 15th; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Dionicio; daughter-in-law, Betty Sanchez; son-in-law, John Lopez; and 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Her family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
