Lorraine E. Pelton
Age 91, of Lansing, passed away September 26, 2012. She was born March 8, 1921, in Lansing, to the late Edward and Beulah Ballance.
Lorraine was a 1939 graduate of Lansing Central High School. She also attended comptometer school. She then began her employment with Diamond REO, which lasted until they closed in 1975. She loved her family – especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed retirement and going shopping. When Bud was alive, she loved traveling with him.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Russell of East Lansing and Candis (Robert) Rice of Marquette; 2 grandchildren, Kevin Bradley and Jason (Shelly) Bradley; and great-granddaughter, Misty Bradley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord C. “Bud” Pelton, who died in 1990, and brother Robert Ballance.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2012, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel. Interment will follow in Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
