To all the Rodgers Family Members:

John and I regret that we cannot attend Saturday’s funeral. We will be out of state. However, I would like to celebrate Lorine’s life. She was a wonderful friend to me. She gave me wise counsel, encouragement and pork chops with greens! It was a privilege to work with her at the State of Michigan and to have a brief stint as her landlord in Okemos. I thank God that He put Lorine in my life and that through her I met her children. May He comfort you all as you commemorate her transition to eternity!

To God be the glory. I say this because regardless of what hhas happened and will happen God is in control. True, we don’t understand and may be hard to come to grips with. Our God is faithful. He will see you through this and any situation. I dare not say that I know how you feel but I care. The love from my Family to yours. In Christ, Boris

Desma and Matt, and the Rodgers Family: We’re so sorry for your loss. Although we never met your mom (except when Gary was fixing your roof) I know she must have been a very special loving and giving woman, because that’s the same way I’d describe her daughter. I hope you’ll find peace and comfort in the memories you made with her. I’m so sorry we’re out of town and can’t attend the service. Sending you sincere condolences and love from Gary and me, and the kids who still think of you as a second mom.
