Lois Marcella Caswell (Conrade)

Born March 5, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA, Lois Caswell died November 2, 2010 in Lansing, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents David and Stella (Reeser) Conrade, and her brothers John Boyle and David Conrade.

Lois loved to read and was always interested in history, religion, and the arts. She was a lifelong Episcopalian and a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal church in Downtown Lansing for almost 50 years. She was very active at the church, including serving as the church librarian, a chorister for more than 30 years and sending tapes of the service to shut-ins. Lois also enjoyed classical music, knitting, crocheting, and cooking. She was also a devoted mother.

Lois is survived by her husband David and her daughter Christine Caswell, both of Lansing; sisters-in-law Treva (Bob) Hood and Alta Tolerr; nieces and nephews, Anita Conrade, Helen (Eddie) Dillon, Eric (Paula) Hood, Marc (Lisa) Hood, Steve (Debora) Marsh, Karla McCandless, Rhonda (George) Rhye, Crystal Sumerix and Dawn (Steve) Whitaker; her St. Paul’s family; and her beloved cat, Lord Chatham.

Visitation will be at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. with funeral services at the church at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2010.
