Lloyd A. Dole

Lloyd Arland Dole, passed away on May 25, 2018, at the age of 95.  He was born in Stahl, MO, on March 24, 1923, to Peter Wilford and Ethel Dole.  He was the youngest of four children and was preceded in death by all of his siblings: his sister, Vyrel, and brothers, Von and Wes.  At the age of 12, he survived a pneumonia that caused him the use of one lung for the rest of his life.  He worked as a millwright for 15 years before going to work for 26 years for the Lansing Board of Water and Light.  He spent his retirement years with his best friend and wife, Beulah, traveling and living at the lake in the summers and winters in Panama City Beach, Florida.  They made many trips out west and visited 49 of the 50 states and most of the Canadian Provinces.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Beulah; daughter, Connie, and son-in-law, Wayne Kreiner; son, Terry Dole, and daughter-in-law, Cindy; grandchildren, Kara Stewart, Kori (Jay) Bell, Weston Dole and Zane (Jessica) Dole; great-grandchildren, Gaven Dole, Megan and Ethan Dole, Juno Stewart and Aven Bell.  Special thanks to Jessica and Zane for the loving special care they gave him this past winter.  He was a loving husband and dad and a proud Papa and Papa Great. He will be forever missed at the family gatherings at the lake, especially the family fish fries.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, with interment to follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens.  His family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until service time on Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in memory of Lloyd Dole.
