Leanne K. Zapala

Leanne Kaye “Annie” (MacDonald) Zapala, 52, of Haslett, MI, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2017. She was born October 23, 1964. Leanne was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Zapala, mother Claire (Bush) MacDonald, and sister Leslee Heath.

She is survived by her father Kaye MacDonald, stepdaughters Katherine Zapala and Lauren (Joel) Isanhart, their children Alec, Adam, Andrew and Aiden, nieces Katie and Austin, nephew Brian, and great-niece Logan.

Leanne graduated from Dansville High School and received her degree from Northwood University. She retired from the Accident Fund in 2015.

She was a loving and caring person whose family and friends meant a great deal to her. She loved going to Pentwater, traveling, and being in the sun. We will always carry her memory in our hearts.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel, 325 W. Washtenaw St., Lansing, MI. Her family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Leanne’s honor.
