Kurt James Teremi
It is with great sadness that the family of Kurt James Teremi (Lansing, MI) announces his passing on December 26, 2021, at the age of 58, after a brief battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Marikay; daughters, Sarah Backerman (Jeff) and Samantha; grandchildren, Emma Rose and Mason James Backerman; parents, James and Carolyn; brother, Thomas (Mary); and numerous other family members and friends.
Kurt was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School (class of 1981). He loved visiting Lake Michigan with his wife, traveling and camping with his family, and goofing around with his grandchildren. Later in life, he created many meaningful friendships while working at The Home Depot. He will be dearly missed for his sense of humor and the everlasting memories he left with all of us.
A small, private viewing was held with immediate family following his death. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

December 28, 2021 at 8:53 pmMarikay, Sarah, Samantha and Jeff – we are deeply saddened to hear about Kurt. Rejoice in your memories, I pray they help provide comfort to you all during this very difficult time.
I would like to share this with you as I took it to heart when my brother passed away in April. “No rulebook. No timeframe. No judgment. Grief is an individual as a fingerprint. Do what is right for your soul.”
May God surround you with his loving embrace.

December 29, 2021 at 6:53 amMany fond and fun memories from Eastern Marching Band with Kurt and “the gang”. I recall a trip to the Silver Dome for a concert…and the ride home in his Delta packed full of teenagers.
My deepest sympathies to his family and close friends.
God Bless.

December 29, 2021 at 7:07 amHow could you not love a person that made you laugh? He could always do that. I saw this picture and it was the same face that I saw way back than as a kid and teenager. Kurt you will missed by all that knew you, but not forgotten. I have so many memories of our friendship and each time I think about what we did another one comes to mind.
