Scott and family,

Gene was someone I knew quite well since 1978 as a neighbor. Then through the Republican Party of Kalamazoo.
Gene was a giving leader to our community and someone I considered a friend.
We have lost a true patriot. Gene will leave a hold in many hearts.

You all have my deepest sympathies.

Dear Scott and Shanna, I am sorry for the loss of your father at Christmas time. But I celebrate his Homecoming to His Lord and a life well lived. As kids growing up in Rudgate I don’t think we ever knew, or cared to know, what our friends’ parents did, so reading our dad’s accomplishments now was all news to me. I just remember him and your mother as genuinely sweet people who treasured the two of you. My prayer for you and your families is that you are flooded with great memories and peace.
