Keith L. Heezen

12/8/37 – 3/27/19

Keith L. Heezen died March 27, 2019 after a brief hospitalization. He was 81.  Keith was born December 8, 1937 to Merle and Evelyn Heezen in Plankinton, SD.  He was raised a hard-working farm boy and outdoorsman.  Keith obtained an undergraduate degree in Wildlife Biology from the university of Idaho. He married Arlea Williams while attending school and their son was born in 1961 in Orofino, ID. Shortly after graduation the family moved to Minnesota where Keith worked  for the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife while pursuing a Masters degree in Wildlife Biology. He moved his family to Michigan in 1965 and began working for the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources. Daughter Kim was born in Bath, MI in 1969.

Keith and Arlea later divorced, and Keith married his true love, Edith Darling in 1984.  Keith was preceded in death by both his parents and  an infant granddaughter Emily Nicole.  Keith is survived by his sisters, Jan (Larry) Rippee and Kathy (Dale) Neirby; by brothers, Gary (Donna), Jay, and Dee (Sue) Heezen; son, Lynn Heezen and daughter Kim (Dan) Thompson; stepson Charles (Sonya) Jamsen, stepdaughter Kirsten (Anton Jachim)  Jamsen; and 6 grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
