Kay L. Harrison
Kay L. Harrison of Holt, Michigan, passed away on October 13, 2023, with her family by her side.
She was born on December 15, 1945, in Lansing, Michigan, to parents Theodore and Lucille Anderson.
Kay graduated from Holt High School in 1964.
In 1963 Kay met her true love, Bob at Edru Roller Skating Rink in Holt and this was when their life together began. Kay and Bob were married after high school and shortly thereafter, they purchased Kay’s childhood home where they would live and raise their family.
Kay worked as a secretary at Lansing Supply and took great pride in her employment. Once she had her family, she devoted her time to raising their children, Tracy and Ted, and being at home with them. Later in life, Kay worked cleaning houses and enjoyed the flexibility of having her own work schedule.
To know Kay was to know that she loved her family, plants & gardening, her dogs and nature. She was a huge MSU fan. You would often see her wearing her MSU sweatshirt and cheering on her Spartans! She also loved the outdoors and vacationing on Drummond Island where she was always on the lookout for black bears.
Kay was a caregiver and a friend to all. She could strike up a conversation with anyone she met. Maple Street was the place that she called home for the majority of her life, and she loved being from Holt, raising her family there and living her life in a community that still had a small town feel.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Tracy (Tony) Casali; her daughter-in-law, Annie Harrison; her 4 grandchildren, Tony Casali II, Dominic Casali, Gabrielle Harrison & Audrey Harrison; as well as her twin sister, Karen (Ken) Wirt; sister, Judy (Steve) McEnaney; sister-in-law, Helen Bond; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Gary & Carolyn Eversole; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Bob, her loving son Ted Harrison, brother Raymond Bond, and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Estes-Leadley Holt/Delhi Chapel, 2121 N. Cedar St., Holt. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 3:00 p.m. until service time at 5:00 p.m.

October 20, 2023 at 10:56 amI share my condolences with Kay’s family and friends upon the passing of this dear sweet lady. I came to know Kay as a result of my drum circle work and other volunteer efforts at the Willows of Okemos. She was a very kind and loving person who I considered to be my friend. She was always an enthusiastic participant in our drum circles and other social activities. I looked forward to seeing and chatting with Kay each week and will miss her very much. May she rest in eternal peace and light and may her memory remain as a blessing to all who knew her. She will be forever in my heart.

October 26, 2023 at 7:47 pmI’m Kay’s second cousin, Kathy Hogarth… I always saw Kay as a sweet lady, who cared about others… She had a love for plants and flowers that we both shared… I imagine Kay’s path to Heaven as her strolling down a green carpet of grass, lined with flowers, birds, and deer; while her happy dog wags his tail alongside her.
She is now re-united with the love of her life, dear Bob.
From the Harris and Hogarth families “We LOVE you Kay!”
