Kathryn A. Stump

Kathryn Ann Stump, of Lansing, MI, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2022.

Kathy gave her heart, generosity and kindness to all who knew her. A lifelong resident of the Lansing area, Kathy attended Holy Cross School and graduated from O’Rafferty High School. She went on to demonstrate her loyal and selfless nature by serving customers and co-workers throughout her 40-year career at Quality Dairy Company.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Gladys, and loving brothers Michael and Patrick. She is survived by Carl Leonard, brother Ron (Jan) Stump, sisters Sue (Robert) Erickson and Anne Stump, sister-in-law Penny Stump, as well as devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts Patricia Snyder and Monica Pung.

Kathy’s favorite colors were green and white. She was a die-hard Michigan State fan and longtime Spartan hockey and football season ticket holder. A talented artist and animal lover, Kathy loved the family “Stumpcations,” casino visits, a raucous card game, and showing off her cookie decorating skills each Christmas.

Our family was blessed to have had Kathy in our lives. The world will not be as bright with her gone.

Our family wishes to thank the staff at CVICU Sparrow Hospital for the kindness they gave our family.

A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held this summer. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society. Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel.

Kathy was a wonderful caring person I am fortunate to be able to say I worked 36 years with her and we used to always say that we’ve been together longer than most people been married. We did a lot of things together she was my partner in crime my sidekick I will miss her greatly. Prayers go out to all of her family and her friends.

Our sincere condolences to the entire Stump family. Your hearts have been dearly bruised recently, and again, now with Kathy’s passing. Pat and Mike must be even happier now to see Kathy once again. Your family is in our prayers. May God continue to bless those wonderful “Stumps.” Bill and Janet Haun

I grew up on Princeton Street and Kathy was one of my twin sister and I good friends. We would walk to Holy Cross together. We played at Comstock Park winter, summer ,spring and fall. I no longer live in Lansing, but often wondered about Kathy. God bless her.

I remember this smiling face at our local QD. Always happy go lucky. Haven’t seen her in years but I sure remember her smile. God bless her. Didn’t she live in the big blue house on the corner of MLK and Oakland?

I was very blessed to work with Kathy at QD in Holt in my very early career. Even when I would go into QD up until the fire, she and Deb would always welcome me with a smile and hug. You will certainly be missed Kathy.
